Bought a sofa but not satisfied, what now?

Have you bought a sofa, but are you not satisfied with the sofa? It is of course possible that you are not satisfied with your sofa as soon as the furniture is delivered. Maybe the sofa is too big for your living room, the sofa doesn't fit through the door, you don't like the new sofa or you are not satisfied with the sofa for some other reason. Depending on the reason for your dissatisfaction, you have several options.

Not happy with sofa

Suppose you have found the perfect sofa in the store or online. But as soon as the sofa is delivered, it turns out that it does not quite meet your expectations. Your new sofa is not comfortable or you do not like it and you would like to exchange or return it. What guarantees and rights do you have on the purchase of your new sofa? When you have bought the sofa in the store, the exchange of the sofa is not a right and it depends on the seller whether this is allowed. If you have ordered the sofa online via a web store, you always have fourteen days of return right after the delivery of the piece of furniture.

The sofa is too big for the living room

If it appears upon delivery that you have bought the sofa too large, the same conditions apply to exchange as if you are not satisfied with the sofa. If the sofa is too wide for the door or too big for the living room, the right to exchange the sofa depends on where you bought the furniture:

  • If you bought the sofa in the store and you are not satisfied, it depends on the seller whether you can exchange the sofa;
  • Is there no other sofa in the range to your liking? Then the seller can choose to prepare a voucher for the exchange of the bank;
  • You always have a 14-day return right on online orders.

New sofa has defects or damage

If your new sofa has obvious defects upon delivery, you have the right to speak. You always have a legal guarantee on sofas. This means that if the sofa is not good or does not meet what you have agreed with the seller, you are entitled to repairor, if that is not possible, replacement. This applies if the defect occurs within the warranty period and you have used the sofa normally. Normal wear and tear is of course excluded. The most common complaint on sofas is sagging fillings and pleats. If you are not satisfied, do not hesitate to contact the store, but remember that sagging cushions and folds in the upholstery are normal characteristics and there is no question of a defect. Only when the symptoms are excessive, there is a justified complaint.

Comments

  1. The form of your sofa is crucial if you don't have much area. A fantastic strategy to maximise the space in your room is to select furniture that surrounds it. Because they naturally fit into corners, sectional sofas, also known as modular sofas, can be perfect for tiny spaces with limited space. This frees up space in the middle of the room.
